‘Volunteer with us’
Eye to Eye Young People’s Counselling Service has a long history of working with Volunteer Counsellors, providing them with the opportunity to work within the community of Rhondda Cynon Taf.
We have counselling rooms within partner organisations based in Rhondda Cynon Taff so that we can offer you counselling hours at a community venue closest to you.
We accept applications from fully qualified counsellors as well as from student counsellors currently studying a level 4 or above qualification in counselling and looking to gain experience as part of their University/College placement. We have extremely well established professional relationships with all the universities and colleges in South Wales and therefore student placements with Eye to Eye Young People’s Counselling Service comes via a recommendation from the faculty tutors.
Our selection process is based on a person’s previous experience, enthusiasm and drive for working with children and young people.
All of our volunteer counsellors are required to work towards the BACP Competencies for Humanistic Counselling with Young People and to work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
We recognise the importance of continued professional development and run regular in-house training courses to include mandatory safeguarding training to keep up to date on all legislative policies and procedures.
Clinical Supervision is provided for all of our volunteer counsellors and this is done on an individual and group basis.
