About Us
Eye to Eye Counselling Service is a counselling service for children and young people, their families and the wider communities across RCT and the Cwm Taf Morgannwg. We offer free and confidential support for anyone between the ages of 10-30.
We were founded over 30 years ago. A group of dedicated individuals came together to support children and young people across RCT. Our service was born out of close participation with young people who were asked what they needed and they told us they needed
someone they could talk to.
Sometimes, we all need someone to talk to.
We wanted to be there for children and young people who felt like they had nowhere to turn or who just needed someone who would listen to them. That's why we created Eye to Eye.
Working in partnership with children and young people across RCT, we listened to what they wanted and developed a free and confidential youth counselling service. Eye to Eye is a service created by young people, for young people.
Our service has changed a great deal since it was founded. Our team has grown and so has the number of children and young people we support.
Like all good organisations we have adapted the way we work and while we still offer exemplary face to face counselling across RCT, we have adapted to the age of tech with virtual calls and online chats.
Our Story
We've been serving children and young people in RCT for 30 years...
Put simply, we asked a cross section of children and young people right across RCT what they wanted, they answered:
"We want someone to talk to"
That's why we created Eye to Eye, a counselling service for children and young people in RCT, to support them, to help them and be there for them when they felt they had no one left to turn to.
Eye to Eye provides counselling services to around 1600 young people a year in our community settings, mainstream schools, additional need schools, pupil referral units and those educated other than at school whether that be elected home educated, home tutored or RCT Group Tuition.
Our counsellors also support primary education by offering free counselling to children aged 10 and above who present with complex issues associated with significant loss. The charity also provides counselling to young people evening and weekends online service to those who are unable to attend for face to face counselling.
Eye to Eye operate a number of counselling outreach bases in Rhondda Cynon Taf, for young people up to the age of 30 years.
